At Amaroo, we are fortunate to have a team of over 400 people across our organisation working together to care for older Australians.
All our staff, including our nurses, personal care workers, allied health professionals, cooks, maintenance, cleaners, and administrative staff dedicate their lives to ensuring the wellbeing of our clients and residents every day they come into work.
In the leadup to Aged Care Employee Day, we are featuring a variety of our staff at Amaroo who display an exceptional commitment to their role and our clients and residents.
In our second blog post we introduce you to our Finance Manager – Varuni.
Meet Varuni
Varuni has been at Amaroo for over two years, working in the position of Finance Manager.
“My role means that I oversee and manage all aspects of the finance department.”, Varuni explains.
Around the office, Varuni is not only respected for her outstanding work ethic, but she is also known for her positive energy and friendly nature.
“Hitting deadlines and taking on new challenges are my favourite part of work. I also truly love being able to help other members of the finance team.”
Overcoming challenges
When faced with difficult challenges at work, Varuni’s commitment to helping others keeps her motivated.
“I always feel empathy and compassion for the people I help.
Whilst my role can be challenging at times, my dedication to wanting to provide the best support I can to everyone I assist helps me to remain objective and professional.”
The rewarding nature of a career in aged care
If you are considering a career in the aged care industry, Varuni highly recommends it.
“Making a positive difference in the lives of residents and their families can be incredibly heart-warming. This sense of purpose energises you and the work you do. Every day I leave work, I leave feeling fulfilled.”
At Amaroo, we are always looking for individuals who are passionate and genuinely want to make a difference in the lives of others. If this sounds like you, then we want to hear from you.
