Amaroo Announces New CEO
Amaroo Board President Tony Italiano and current CEO David Fenwick are pleased to announce Lisa Brennan as Amaroo’s next Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Lisa will take over from David in October 2021.
Lisa has an allied health clinical background and extensive executive experience in both the public health and disability sectors. Lisa has a proven track record of successful organisational performance management, reform, strategic planning, and inspirational senior leadership.
Mr Italiano said that the Board was delighted to welcome Lisa to Amaroo.
“Lisa is an accomplished and highly capable leader with demonstrated experience and success. With her strengths in clinical governance and her passion for person centred care, I have no doubt that Lisa will be an outstanding CEO who will build on Amaroo’s existing reputation and an excellent value-for-money proposition for WA retirees.”
“Lisa’s appointment follows a rigorous and well organised recruitment process that attracted a very strong field of candidates.”
“I would also like to recognise and thank our current CEO David Fenwick for his significant work in leading Amaroo for nearly twenty years. He has made a tremendous contribution to the well-being and quality of life of our residents during this time”.
David has led the Amaroo Village team with skill, professionalism and integrity since January 2002. Under David’s leadership, Amaroo has grown substantially, adding 148 new residential aged care places and more than 150 new independent living units. David also launched Amaroo’s home care package service Amaroo@Home, successfully lobbied the Federal government to allocate 40 residential care places in Denmark and facilitated the establishment of the Gosnells Community Men’s Shed.
Mr Italiano said David has worked tirelessly to achieve quality care for older West Australians and has taken an active role in the not-for-profit aged care sector.
“David has been a dedicated CEO who has worked tirelessly to lead a team of over 384 employees and 162 volunteers. David’s contribution to Amaroo and the aged care sector generally has been recognised by his peers, with David winning the Aged & Community Services Australia’s prestigious “Distinguished Service in Care (WA)” award in 2019.”
David Fenwick said he would like to congratulate Lisa Brennan on her appointment.
“It is with great pride and satisfaction that I reflect on what the Amaroo team has been able to achieve for our residents over the last twenty years. The aged care and community care sector is a challenging area, but I am proud to be leaving Amaroo with an enviable reputation.”
“I have very much enjoyed my time as CEO of Amaroo, and I look forward to passing the torch to a leader as capable and accomplished as Lisa” Mr Fenwick said.
