Principal work experience:
Apart from running his own Real Estate business, Tony is also a licensed Electrical Contractor and has also completed a Building course. Tony was a former City of Gosnells Councillor and has been a active Rotarian for 29 years.


Greg Milner, Vice-President

Mayor of the City of South Perth

Principal work experience:
Greg holds a Bachelor of Laws (with Distinction) and a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting/Finance) from UWA. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (Company Directors Course) and the Emerging Leaders in Governance Program. Greg previously practised as a commercial and property solicitor for over 13 years, and served as a Councillor for the City of South Perth for two years before being elected Mayor in 2019. Greg also serves on the board of a prominent child and parenting development organisation.


Norm Smith, Director

Active member of Amaroo Village Board

Board member:
Former President of Amaroo Board. Member of Amaroo Board since 1992 (with a break during 1994-1997).

Principal work experience:
Has a Bachelor in Social Work degree; 13 years experience in Local Government as a Councillor; former Mayor of the City of Gosnells; employed by the Department of Corrective Services for the past 21 years; held the position of Director of Community and Juvenile Justice Special Projects before retiring in 2013

 

Leon Hanrahan, Director

Employed at the Group Financial Controller of an ASX 300 property development and investment company.

Principal work experience:
Leon is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Secretary with significant experience in accounting and finance roles in Australia and overseas; has a Bachelor of Commerce from Curtin University, Graduate Diplomas from the Governance Institute of Australia and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia; held senior financial and management roles in a large private group, a multinational oil and gas company and big four professional services firm.


Laura Sutherland, Director

Principal work experience:
Laura has a BA (Hons) in Psychology and runs a company offering Workforce solutions within the Aged Care & Community Services Industry. 15 years’ experience in recruitment and workforce solutions, and previous to that Laura worked directly with Aged Care and Mental Health clients. Experience leading teams for large corporates based in the UK and Australia before setting up her own company in 2012 to respond to the demand  for a bespoke service which meets the specific needs of Aged Care & Community Services. Laura’s expertise is Recruitment & Selection, Employee Engagement, Retention, Performance development, and Leadership development. The Chair of the WA Ambassador Council for Leading Aged Services Australia’s NEXT GEN, Laura is committed to future proofing our Aged Care industry through its most valuable asset – its people.


Simon Withers, Director

Principal work experience:
Simon holds law and commerce degrees from the University of Western Australia and an LLM from University of Cambridge. He worked as a lawyer in Perth before spending 18 years in investment banking and private equity in London. Since returning to Perth he has served on the Takeovers Panel and the board of WA Super, been Mayor of the Town of Cambridge and worked at board level for two other retirement villages.


Geraldine Garrett, Director

Member of Amaroo Board since 2021

Principal work experience:
Geraldine’s nursing career commenced at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne.  In addition to her Registered Nurse and other clinical qualifications, she has also has formal qualifications in education, quality systems, psychometric testing (MBTI), human resource management and employee relations. Geraldine has worked at Board level for another retirement village and been part of several clinical consultancy groups.  She has successfully directed and led teams in the acute, not-for-profit, disability, private and public health sectors for over 25 years. Currently, Geraldine is working as a Clinical Lead for another not-for-profit organisation.  Her main areas of professional interest and focus are memory support (dementia) care, palliative care, diversity and clinical excellence in aged care.
