The Basic Daily Fee

All residents living in our aged-care facilities are required to pay a basic daily fee. The basic daily fee is a contribution to your day-to-day living expenses. This covers living costs such as meals, electricity, cleaning and laundry. This fee is set by the government and is 85% of the full pension.


Means Tested Care Fee (Care-contribution)

This is an additional contribution towards the cost of care that some people may be required to pay.  This fee is determined by the Centrelink Income and Assets Assessment and is based on the amount of income and assests of the resident.

The Means Tested Care Fee is assessed quarterly and can change with your circumstances.
There are annual and life-time caps associated with this fee.

Accommodation Payment

This is for your accommodation in the care centre.
Your ability to contribute to your accommodation depends on your Centrelink Income and Assets Assessment. The assessment will determine whether you have the ability to pay for none, some or all of your accommodation.
