In addition to first class accommodation, Amaroo Village offers its residents an exciting and ever-changing array of recreational activities and amenities.
The Nancye Jones Community Centre is the hub of social activities at Amaroo Village. The Centre plays host to a multitude of activities such as a weekly indoor bowls and tai chi; monthly concerts, lunches and bus trips; Friday Happy Hour as well as many other events throughout the year.
The recently refurbished Winifred Jones Cottage provides a dedicated arts and crafts venue for residents wishing to explore their creative side.
Amaroo’s own Dot’s Café is a wonderful setting for lunch, or perhaps a leisurely morning or afternoon tea. Dot’s also offers free Internet access and computer lessons, as well as craft sessions throughout the year.
As the name suggests, the Amaroo Manual Arts Shed is perfect for those wishing to get involved in a range of manual art activities. The Shed is well equipped with a range of excellent woodwork tools including a 200mm planer, 400 mm thicknesser, ripping and docking saw, combination angle mitre saw, band saws, scroll saw, triton router, combination sander and dust extraction equipment.
Outdoors, the Dorothy Gay Memorial Garden provides welcome shade in the summer and offers family-friendly barbecue facilities. A special memorial wall and fountain feature in this beautiful garden in memory of Gosnells’ early pioneers.
For those seeking some time out, the Amaroo Gardens Clubhouse - a delightfully restored homestead - is perfect for reading, entertaining friends or hosting small meetings.
Amaroo Village also operates two buses that transport residents, for a small fee, to various locations in the local community, as well as on weekly shopping and banking trips. For residents with caravans or boats we can provide storage facilities for a small weekly fee.
Amaroo’s popular Social Club organises a range of activities including bingo, cards, art and craft activities and regular day trips. There’s even a walking club. All activities are easily available to Amaroo Village residents; and because we’re situated close to Gosnells town centre, Residents can also enjoy easy access to a range of neighbourhood amenities.
