Low Care

Buckley Caring Centre

Live Life to the Full

The Amaroo Village Buckley Caring Centre provides care for residents who may need a little extra assistance to make the most of their daily lives.  In addition, our philosopy of ageing in place means that when a resident's needs change there is no need to move.

Housed within a modern complex, all rooms are comfortably appointed and offer views across Amaroo’s lovely, well presented grounds.  The Centre comprises four separate wings; the Jarrah Wing, which comprises 18 ensuite rooms; the Karri Wing, which offers 27 spacious rooms; the Tuart Wing, made up of 24 rooms comprising four cluster houses of six rooms each; and the Azalia Wing, offering 12 secure dementia rooms. Buckley is also able to provide double rooms for couples.

All rooms are fitted with computerised emergency call systems, built-in wardrobes, cupboards, refrigerator and comfortable beds, with many offering private bathrooms.  Residents are encouraged to bring in special items such as photographs, a favourite armchair and a television set.

Staff at Buckley are also keen to offer additional help with daily tasks such as showering, dressing and supervision of medication.  No restrictions are placed on residents wanting to enter or leave the building and guests are welcome to visit at any time.  Dining is always a highlight with nutritious meals prepared fresh each day by our resident Chef.  All dietary and cultural needs are catered for and meals are served in the main dining room, providing residents with a great opportunity to socialise. The Buckley Centre offers a range of enjoyable activities including pool, bingo, a walking club, sundowners, craft, Church Services and regular outings. We even have a fundraising cooking group who meet once a week, hand sensory therapy and excercise sessions are run daily.

Fees
Fees at Buckley Caring Centre cover care, meals, cleaning and laundry.  Incidentals such as pharmacy scripts, hairdressing and outings are additional. Fees will depend on income level and assets and will be discussed in detail upon application.  Fees are calculated in strict accordance with Government regulations and the Aged Care Act 1997.

Application
To gain admission to the Buckley Centre, an assessment is required by a Government Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) as well as an income assessment through Centrelink or the Department of Veteran Affairs.  ACAT assessment can be organised through your Doctor or hospital social worker and will determine whether you have high or low care needs.  Once both assessments have been obtained, you can place your name on our waiting list.
